Well, Gee, Thanks for the Good News

Nothing like being told by your university's president that your degree is going to be worthless in the job market and that too many people go to law school for the wrong reasons and end up miserable at 35.

Excellent. I'm in a good mood now.

Why would your degree be worthless?

Can you please give us some context regarding this post? I'm completely confused.

Sorry for the cryptic post guys. Here's a lil background: I take a class with Columbia's presidant (awesome!), and yesterday somebody asked him something regarding law school. Part of his reply was that our prospects (the class is all undergrads) of getting jobs with our very expensive elite Ivy League degrees was basically nill and that's one of the reasons so many people go to law school (which is not necessarily a good thing). It was just amusing to hear the University president tell us our degrees are basically worthless in the job market.

Frum Single, I never contended that my better education and Latin diploma will help me get a better job. I am not in it for the job at this point, and I think I said that. If I was just in it for the money and the job, there are better ways to do it. I'm at Columbia becuase I LOVE the education.
