I Won't Vote for Republican Relatives, I Won't!

My Republican sister: One day I want to run for public office.
Me: Well, if you do I'm not voting for you. You're a Republican.
My Republican Sister: HEY!
Me: Sorry, I don't vote for Republicans. Even ones who are related to me.

I so thought this post was going to be about Jeb Bush from the Jrants headline. :-)

Well, if my sis runs in Florida at least I won't have the voting problem since I can't vote in Florida. Good plan ;)

Which public office does your sis have in mind? Can I be her campaign manager or chief of staff?

Would you consider a run against her on the Democratic ticket? ;)

My sister is a lil young to have her whole life planned out, so I'm not sure she knows what she wants to run for yet, but when the time comes, I'll be sure to pass along a resume from you, Michael.

And running against her on the Democratic ticket would be awesome! Great idea! I'll let her know what I have in store ;)

...but girls planning their weddings in seminary-is she ready for that?

whenever/whatever she decides, please have her contact me and i'd be glad to submit my resume for her careful consideration. wow, networking on blogs, who knew?

Since it was my idea (and has been posted in a public domain for all to see), I'm claiming a modest 3% of all profits from your campaign paraphernalia. If I can have the honor of acting as your campaign manager, too, I'll even donate the handsome Republican National Committee lapel pin that arrived in the mail today!

Should I send my resume ASAP?

Well, Michael, you probably have a bit of time before I look for a campaign manager, and even then, well... a Republican?

On the seminary/wedding thing, fair question. Hmm. Wow! I don't know what to answer. She's my lil sis, she can't be planning her wedding. She can't. Maybe you're right, she should just skip seminary and run for office ;)
